What is UV Light?
UV (ultraviolet) light is a type of radiation that can be found in the electromagnetic spectrum and is measured in Nanometers (nm). Invisible to the human eye, UV is an effective disinfectant due to the density of its wavelength.
There are four ranges to UV light – UV-A, UV-B, UV-C and Vacuum-UV:

UV-A (Black Light)
Wavelength: 315–400 nm
Longest wavelength, used in fluorescent detection, curing, and lighting effects. Less harmful but can cause skin aging with prolonged exposure.
UV-B (Medium Wavelength)
Wavelength: 280–315 nm
Causes sunburn and aids Vitamin D production. Used in medical treatments and some disinfection processes but more harmful to skin and eyes.
UV-C (Germicidal UV)
Wavelength: 240–280 nm
Shortest wavelength with the highest energy. Highly effective for killing microorganisms, making it ideal for water, air, and surface disinfection.
